The rapper teamed up with the clothing line to create a line of neckties with all proceeds benefiting the foundation. Guests included Gabrielle Union, Jazze Pha and Bobby Valentino.

B.o.B - The Adventures of Bobby Ray (Album Review)

Check out www.newdopeaudio.blogspot.com I promise this is the last time I will change the name of my blog.

File:TheAdventuresofBobbyRay.jpg

It's been a while since I've done an album review but this is probably the first album that has peaked my interest this year. When I had first heard about B.o.B I didn't expect anything special from him. This album is one of the most well put together albums in recent years and shows how creative B.o.B with his infusion of hip hop, rock, pop as well as a few other genres. The album is a great debut and the production on the album is fantastic. I give it a grade of a 9/10. A definite buy. So get it on 4/27. Below is a full track by track review.

1. Don't Let Me Fall - A soft but strong introduction to the album. Solid intro track. 8/10

2. Nothin' On You feat. Bruno Mars - What more can be said about the number 1 song in the country. Amazing hook and clever lines. Perfect radio single. 9.5/10

3. Past My Shades feat. Lupe Fiasco - This is one of my personal favorites on the album. This song needs to be a single, and its a definite anthem. And Lupe killed it. 9.5/10

4. Airplanes feat. Hayley Williams - Another personal favorite and if it wasn't for part 2 it would be the best song on the album. But when you compare this and part 2 you like it less. 9/10

5. Bet I Bust feat. T.I. & Playboy Tre - At first, I really liked this song but when you listen to the album fully this song doesn't seem to be needed. Tip killed it though so dope nonetheless. 8/10

6. Ghost In The Machine - One of the deepest songs on the album but it can get a little boring at times. 7.5/10

7. The Kids feat. Janelle Monae - I'm liking the feel of this song and the production. It's always good to have a song with a message. 8.5/10

8. Magic feat. Rivers Cuemo - This song is not usually my style but Bobby does good on it and it's upbeat. 8/10.

9. Fame - This will probably end up being the most underrated track on the album but the beat is crazy and B.o.b did his thing on it. 9/10

10. Lovelier Than You - This song is catchy and B.o.B produced a soft record talking about of course love. Shows you how much talent he has and his versatility. 8/10

11. 5th Dimension feat. Ricco Barrino - Another personal favorite from the album and it sounds single quality. 9/10

12. Airplanes Pt. 2 feat. Hayley Williams & Eminem - Save the best for last in part 2 B.o.B. comes harder with the verses and Em's verse is so incredible. Makes an already great song better. 10/10

13. Higher (Bonus) - Sounds like a freestyle. First time on the album that he is just spitting. 8/10

14. Satellite (Bonus) - If you were a fan of Bobby before the album than you know that this song is something you can expect from him. Not good as some other tracks on the album but not a skipper. 7/10

15. Yesterday (Bonus) - Haven't heard it yet but I'll give a review when it drops.

Friday Night Session: 2

Another post for 3 joints that I have been especially feeling this week. Don't forget check out my new blog that's up and running. Uptown Styles

This track has been on repeat all week for me. "Bullshittin" Songs real funny to me and Big Sean killed it. I don't know if this will be a big hit for him but it's definitely dope.

With the success of his song "Nothin' On You" it's difficult to have a successful follow up single but I think that he's got one with "Airplanes" and part 2 of the song is supposed to have Eminem on it.

"Lately" has been out for a while but I'm just catching on to it and U-N-I is a legitimate group might get a featured artist post.

"Zach From Team Blackout Top 5"

What’s up Hip-HopMovement!! It’s Zach from Team Blackout. I appreciate you for having me on the blog once again. I’m here to run down my list of Top 5 Mcs. Now this list is in no particular order. I’m just running off names and giving yall my explanation. This is a very hard list to make since there have been so many ill emcees to breathe on a mic. So just bear with me but I think most of yall can agree.

Oh before I forget, I think both 2pac and Biggie are the GREATEST of ALL TIME and that should go without being mentioned. That’s why I don’t have them on the list. Aiiight….

Nas: It would only be right that I go with a fellow Queens native, Nas. In my opinion, no artist has been able to paint a vivid image of the streets the way Nas has. He’s always been ahead of his time every since he came on the scene on Large Professor’s Live at the Barbeque. His talent for storytelling, rhymes full of knowledge and street wisdom, along with his vast vocabulary make him a legendary mc.

Jay-Z: If you ask me, Hov, is one of the best to ever do it. Whether he is really the greatest rapper alive is up for debate. But he definitely is ONE of the greatest I would say. I really loved the old Jay days. I felt like he was one of the most versatile rappers, the way he was able to switch flows and speed up the delivery. Also the swag he did it with was impeccable and can’t be touched.

Black Thought (The Roots): Black Thought does not get the props he deserves from the mainstream. He may not be the most flashy emcee or sell the most records, but the man is as lyrical as they come. If you’re talking lyric for lyric, this dude eats any emcee you can name. His rhymes are packed with politically/socially conscious commentary and in-depth metaphors. To add to that, he rhymes with a sick live band. Yall need to check out The Roots in concert. The Roots were the 1st hip-hop concert I ever went to and it’s the reason why I’m rapping today.

Eminem: Eminem has to go on the list. You can easily argue that he’s one of the best rappers to touch a mic. His rhyme structure is complex filled with a lot of alliteration and consonance. He’s got a strong hold on the English language and has developed a unique melodic cadence in his flow. Not to mention, not only does he have a dark side but he has an extremely comical side as well. He’s an all around entertaining mc.

Big L/Big Pun: Sorry I know I’m passed the limit but I can’t finish the list without mentioning these 2 mcs. These are two emcees who didn’t get a chance to shine to their full potential. But the time that they were here to share their talent with the world, they dropped some classic material and have proved themselves to be worthy on anybody’s list. Both Pun and L’s flow are water. Just straight up clean and smooth, no interference. Between Pun’s melodic cadence and tongue twisters and L’s use of creative punchlines, these emcees were very innovative with their styles and changed the game in so many ways.

Yall can hit me up with yall opinions of my list and comment on who may be on your list. http://twitter.com/zach89

Be on the look out for my album “I’M ME” COMING THIS SUMMER!!!!!

Nas & Damian Marley - Rap Up Interview

Nas gives his opinion of the new school of rappers and talks about the state of hip hop. Just a quick post.

Back To The Future

First off, I want to tell you about my new blog Uptown Styles. This post is just a highlight of a couple of my favorite rap joints.

This joint is such a classic I just had to post when it came up on shuffle while listening to my Ipod. Nas is one of the greatest.

Another one of the best rap songs ever. Atmosphere in this record addresses a lot of different things.

Don't you miss how rap was in the 90's this joint always makes me think that.

Gang Starr is such a classic group and this song is fire.

Roc Raida

Roc Raida is an hiphop DJ and producer who I been getting in to his solo albums. But sadly he died on September 19, 2009 due to complications relating to a mixed-martial-arts accident. But his legacy still stays in hiphop forevery. He was a member of the legendary DJ group, The X-Ecutioners. Which is a DJ and turntables group. They drop three albums 1997: X-Pressions, 2002: Built from Scratch and 2004: Revolutions. The last two are dope albums to me they both are on my Ipod.

He made 7 solo albums I will be here a long time if I write about all of them. My Fav was his last Beats, Cuts and Skits which drop in 2007 the beats are crazy and got some grear hiphop artists on the album. The Likes of Black Thought, Linkin Park, Ghostface Killah, M.O.P. etc. I got to write about Rock Phenomenon which drop in 2005it was a mashup album released by Roc Raida and DJ Vlad, with Linkin Park's Mike Shinoda. The album won the Mash Up Mixtape of the Year at the 2007 Justo Mixtape Awards. The album was Hiphop vs Rock mixes on tracks the likes of Em, Pac, Hov, Fiddy, Dre, Mobb Deep and more of hiphop. Its a classic to me as im a big fan of Rock Music and it was a different type of album seeing them mix by a DJ.

Video below is a DJ Roc Raida Tribute. Its a must see video.

He also produced songs for artists including Ill Al Skratch, Showbiz and A.G., the Jungle Brothers, Mad Skillz, Smif-n-Wessun and Big Pun, and served as the DJ for Busta Rhymes. A Great DJ in hiphop and is missed.

Here's some exclusive performances from some hip hop heavyweights. J. Cole, Lupe & Wale. Oh yeah and keep expecting more posts from me. But my next site will be up soon and I'll have a new featured artist post tomorrow.

J. Cole in Tampa performing what is believed to be his first single called "Who Dat". From what I hear you can guarantee his album is going to be classic.

Lupe performing in Boston. Never heard the track before so it might be new.

Wale performing one of the best joints off his Attention Deficit album.
