Let Me Go HIGHER

First let me start of with Drake I saw yesterday on the net he is doing a track with Eminem and Dr Dre for his new album Thank Me Later. He is recording the track with them this weekend in LA. But other reports saying say he is shooting "Over" music video in Los Angeles. But recording for the video began on Friday March 12.

Other news Jay-Z has opened up about Lil Wayne's surprise appearance at Madison Square Garden during his Blueprint III tour stop in New York City last week. Jay Z said below.
"It was fantastic," Jay said in an interview. "Again, any time you play the Garden is a special moment. It's special. Wayne, how that worked out, he was supposed to go away for a year. Somehow he was able to perform that last show. He came out to an incredible reaction. Then Drake, Nicki Minaj -- all on Jeezy's set, which was fantastic. Then Trey Songz and Fabolous. It's one of those magical nights at the Garden. Once again, one of those magical nights." (MTV)

Lupe Fiasco Explains Not Wanting Jay-Z's Fame, "You're A Fool Trying To Chase That Success Down". Lupe Fiasco has explained his recent comments about not wanting to reach Jay-Z's level of fame. According to Lupe, artists like Jay and Lil Wayne should not be measuring tools for a person's success. Recent Interview below.

Diggy Simmons - Flow Stoopid (Made You Look)

Best song I've heard from this kid so far. Shocked the hell out of me. The major labels need to pick up the phone and get him signed quick. Because to be 14 and spittin like this imagine him at 18 then he'll be a real problem.

Random Freestyle Battles

Ok so I'm always surfing the net for random freestyles. It just so happens that I was just in a freestyle battle. Didn't go well for it was my first battle. In this first video is a classic freestyle between Eminem and Juice. 6 rounds is crazy. I actually think Em won the battle.

In this second video it's a quick freestyle between Jay and DMX. I gotta say that DMX did better.

In this last video here's two dudes you've probably never heard of but trust me this freestyle battle is crazy. Their names are DNA & Rone. Rone is one of the funniest rappers I've ever heard definitely got his style from Em. But in the end DNA with the punchlines.

Hov, J Cole Top 5 And Fab.

Back to a news type post after the Biggie post yesterday. The video below we have the king of Roc Nation Jay Z live on his blueprint 3 tour in Greensboro North Carolina with the future of hiphop J Cole. They team up and done A Star Is Born. It is such a dope performance they work well together. I think the video for this track will drop soon maybe? Hope so.

Back to J Cole I found this at GlobalGrind its a J Cole blog on there of his five top things to have in the studio. It is below.
Rap Book - I'm a traditional rapper. Pen and Pad. Every now and then I sneak raps on the blackberry but I prefer my thoughts documented on paper.

Mac Book - I started to use Logic recently, it's cool because I can make beats from wherever I'm at now. Just pull out the laptop and get to work.

Good Headphones - Incredible sound is a must.

DRANKS - Everybody got their vice. I don't really use liquor for the creative process, but it definitely helps set the mood of a studio session.

Good People - Nothing can ruin a session more than people with clashing energy. As an artist if you're not comfortable with everybody around you while creating, it can cause you to over-think or lose focus.

A Recent Fabolous video which he speaks about New York rapper Fabolous has made a public calling for Nas to prepare a strong comeback and remind younger hip-hop generations of his rap pioneering skills.

Peace All.

Biggie 13 Years On.

National Biggie Day. Diddys new idea. He suggests that in observance of the rap game great MCs death, that March 9th should be declared Biggie Day. Its been 13 years since he died now. All artist in hiphop regard Biggie Smalls as one of the best of all time and even though his beef with tupac in 90s they still shared good times together before. These are pictures of Biggie with Tupac, Nas and Jay Z in the 90s.

9th Wonder

Ok so I'm pretty much out of rappers to post. So I decided to start posting producers for the featured artists posts. 9th Wonder is one of the best producers right now. He's been prolific in rap music since 1997 with his signature drums. If I ever make a rap album I want this dude to produce on it. Nobody every gives the producers any credit but they deserve it.
